Level Up with Scratch - Make Some Music with Scratch
Level Up with Scratch - Make Some Music with Scratch
September 11, 2025Virtual

Using sound in a game, animation, story, or interactive project can add depth and emotion. The Scratch sound library is full of a variety of sound effects, instrument notes, and music loops, or there is an option to upload your own sound clips. And by adding the music extension blocks, you can use the sounds of a variety of instruments and actual notes with customizable beat lengths to create digital instruments, songs, and more! Join us to explore some of the ways you can use sound and add another element of creativity to Scratch projects.

Experience Level: All experience levels welcome. We'll cover low floor, wide wall, and high ceiling project options.

1 hour of Professional Development Experience: A certificate of participation will be emailed upon session completion. Educators should follow their district’s policy and procedure for obtaining CEUs for workshop attendance.

This is workshop 1 of a 6 part series. On the registration page, you can register for all or select workshops at once.

Scratch Camp
Scratch Camp
July 28-August 17, 2025Virtual

Scratch Camp is a free, three-week creative experience that takes place each summer in the Scratch online community. Hosted by the Scratch Team and co-created with Scratchers around the world, the event invites young people to explore a central theme through weekly project prompts. This year’s theme—“Not As It Seems”—encourages participants to flip the familiar, examine the overlooked, and imagine from new perspectives. From storytelling in reverse to reimagining everyday objects, Scratchers will dive into surprising and imaginative ways to “see things differently and create what they imagine.” New themed studios launch each Monday during the camp, which is open to all and accessible from the Scratch homepage.
