Scratch Education Collaborative

The Scratch Education Collaborative (SEC) was established in 2021 to engage partners who work with educators from underserved and vulnerable communities, where youth have had fewer opportunities to participate in creative learning experiences.

Creative Learning Around the World

The SEC is comprised of 229 organizations that reach more than 9 million learners in historically under-resourced communities, building lasting local capacity for playful creative learning. Scratch deepened partner engagement through in-person collaboration, co-design, and professional learning, strengthening the SEC as a bridge between global creative learning aspirations and locally grounded practices. Insights related to language of instruction, offline use, and differing interpretations of creative learning directly shaped platform priorities and partner supports.

In particular, Scratch empowers young people to express themselves and collaborate in ways that would be virtually impossible to do otherwise."
